SalePilot, from the Shopify App Store, offers exactly two plans, and both are enforced by Shopify's own billing system. There is no three-tier scheme — just Free and SalePilot Pro. This guide covers what each plan includes, how to start a trial, and how to cancel, exactly as the app presents it.

The two plans, in full

FreeSalePilot Pro
Price$0$9.99/month
Free trialNot needed14 days
Applied sale events1 per calendar monthUnlimited

That table is the entire difference between the two plans. The only thing Free vs Pro actually changes is the monthly cap on applied sale events — how many sale events you can actually apply (start) in a calendar month. Nothing else in SalePilot is Pro-only: every discount type, the announcement bar, previews, the revert report, and Panic revert work identically on both plans.

Step 1: Open the Plans page

From the SalePilot dashboard, click "View plans and pricing" to reach the page headed "SalePilot plans."

Step 2: Find your current plan

Whichever plan your shop is on shows a "Current plan" badge next to it, so you can see at a glance whether you're on Free or Pro.

Starting the 14-day free trial (upgrading to Pro)

Step 1: On the Free plan, read the explanatory paragraph

If you're on Free, the Plans page shows an explanatory paragraph next to the "Start 14-day free trial" button, describing what upgrading gives you: unlimited applied sale events instead of the 1-per-month cap.

Step 2: Click "Start 14-day free trial"

Clicking this button hands you off to Shopify's own hosted subscription-confirmation page — this is not a payment screen run by SalePilot itself. You'll confirm the subscription there, on Shopify's own billing flow.

Step 3: Understand what happens after 14 days

The trial itself is free. After the 14 days end, this becomes a real Shopify billing charge of $9.99/month, charged through Shopify — not a separate charge run by SalePilot. Once on Pro, the page shows: "Your applied sale events have no monthly limit."

Cancelling the Pro subscription

Step 1: Read the cancellation terms before clicking

On Pro, the Plans page states the exact terms up front: "Cancel and return to Free at any time. Cancelling takes effect immediately and Shopify credits you for the unused part of the current billing period. Your sale events stay as they are; the free plan's limit of 1 applied sale event per calendar month applies again from then on."

Step 2: Click "Cancel subscription"

This button cancels the subscription. It takes effect immediately (not at the end of the billing period), and Shopify issues a prorated credit for the unused part of the current billing period.

Step 3: Confirm the success banner

After cancelling, a success banner reads: "Subscription cancelled" — "You are back on the Free plan, which includes 1 applied sale event per calendar month. Your existing sale events are untouched." Nothing about your existing sale events changes — only the monthly cap on new applied sale events reverts to 1.

Alternative: cancel from Shopify's own billing settings

SalePilot also notes: "You can also manage or cancel this subscription from your Shopify billing settings" — so cancelling doesn't require going through SalePilot's own Plans page at all; Shopify's billing settings work too.

If something goes wrong

If a billing change — starting the trial or cancelling — fails for any reason, a critical banner reads: "Could not complete that change." If you see this, try the action again, or use the alternative route through Shopify's own billing settings described above.
